My husband and I have two sons; one is four and the other 15. The eldest was mine from a previous marriage, but four years ago today, my husband officially adopted him. Every year we celebrate this wonderful event with a fiesta, or at least a good night out at a Mexican restaurant. What does Mexican food have to do with Adoption Day? Well, the adoption was finalized on El Cinco de Mayo, of course!
I wrote this poem last year as a gift for my husband, and this year I added a picture I took of my boys.
